Required Training

  • [NEEDS INPUT — any Workday/EHRS modules required before computing on lab data, e.g. data security or research-computing-specific training]
  • Protecting Patient Information (HIPAA) / UPHS equivalent — Polaris Training (if working with any identifiable clinical data)

Lab-Specific Orientation

Before you start computing independently, make sure you’ve gone through:

  1. Server Access — PMACS/PARCC accounts, VPN
  2. Computing Basics — IDE setup, command line, Python/R
  3. Project Setup — how projects are organized and tracked
  4. Lab GitHub conventions — see Tutorials → GitHub Usage

Once modules (if any) are complete, let Dr. Cheng or Jeff know so you can be added to any relevant data-access groups.
