Kelly graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree, double majoring in Biology and Health & Societies with a concentration in Health Care Markets & Finance for the latter. As a lab tech in the Cheng Lab, Kelly is working on optimizing lipid nanoparticle formulations for targeted delivery of gene therapy to retinal cells in order to treat inherited retinal degenerative disorders. She is interested in the genetic mechanisms underlying these diseases and hopes to contribute to developing new therapies. Outside of the lab, Kelly enjoys knitting, figure skating, the beach, and exploring new restaurants.
